Topics discussed at the March meeting:
New officers were elected this February, they are as follows: President, Brian Looney; Vice President, Phillip Vandyke; Secretary and Treasurer, Bobby O'quinn. Other topics discussed were the new loop added to the Rattlesnake Section in the Breaks Park last winter and the Bicycle Rodeo slated for April 13th at SVCC.
In other news we have planned the following rides for this spring.
1.April 7th Breaks Park 2:30 (Trails).
2. April 14th ASL benefit ride at Patterson Fire Department to Whitewood 2:30 (road).
3. April 21st Tazewell to Narrows 2:30 (road).
4. May 17th to 19th Blueridge Parkway Boone N.C. to Cherokee N.C. (road).

Topics discussed at the September meeting:
This months meeting saw activities discussed for the month of October. On Oct. 6th there will be a 14 mile road ride through Burkes Garden. October 13th marks the Second Annual River To Ridges Ride. This is a two course, all road ride which will include an advanced course consisting
of 40+ miles and 2 mountain climbs. The second course, a beginner ride, will begin and end at the Patterson Fire Department. During this ride we will make our way along the Dismal River to Whitewood and then back to the Fire Department. There will be rest stops with refreshments and a sage wagon.

Topics discussed at the July 16th meeting:
The club enjoyed Safety Day with The Baxter Foundation. Bobby O'Quinn, Phillip Vandyke, and Richie Mullins worked with 50 youths on bicycle safety. After the safety talk, the children enjoyed practicing their skills in the "Bicycle Rodeo".
Club activities for the month of July will include a bike ride on the 28th from Hoot Owl in Grundy, to the Breaks Interstate Park. Riders need to gather at 7:15 a.m. for the scheduled 7:30 a.m. start. Upon arrival at the Park, riders will have breakfast, and afterwards start the return trip.
On August 19th members will be riding the Russell Fork River Loop, starting at 2:30 p.m.

Topics discussed at the June 18th meeting:
A group ride for ACA members has been slated for June 17th at Potter's Flats. All riders planning to attend need to meet at the Elkhorn City, Ky. police department at 2:30 pm.
Many ACA members plan to attend the 2nd annual Hurricane Ridge - Mountain Bike Challenge and Festival (June 30th and July 1st). ADVENTURES will have a bike concession trailer on site. For more information on the Hurricane Ridge activities, click here.
On July 19th, the ACA will be on hand for The Baxter Foundation Safety Day activities. The ACA will be hosting a bicycle rodeo at the event.
The next ACA meeting is scheduled for July 16th at the Itallian Village in Grundy, 7:00pm.
May 2001
Topics discussed at the May 21st meeting:
The club enjoyed a great
family day at the Breaks Interstate Park on May 6th

Activities for the month of June were discussed.
Topics included a weekend retreat to Damascus.
Details given were that on Saturday the 2nd, club members
will ride the Creeper Trail ending that night with a
camp-out at Beartree Recreation Area. On Sunday, members
will be exploring other trails that are more aggressive.
